We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to join our growing team.
The Healthcare Assistant provides comfort care to patients with terminal illness and end-stage organ failure under the supervision of trained staff. This role will deliver a range of patient care duties under the supervision of trained staff providing basic patient care.
Duties:
- Assist Staff Nurse in admission, transferring and discharge process.
- Participate in direct bedside care with team members.
- Perform basic hygiene and general nursing care to patients with terminal illness and End-Of-Life (EOL) care.
- Observe patient’s clinical condition including response to treatments, goals of care and changes in physical and emotional status, and reports findings to Staff Nurse in charge, as appropriate.
- Provide care following safety, infection control practices, hazardous material and waste policy and procedures.
- Document nursing assessment and interventions carried out accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist Doctors and nurses in performing procedures.
- Assist with the orientation of new Nursing Aide and Healthcare Attendant.
- Ensure safety of patients.
- Participate in linen inventory and ensures that linen supply is sufficient and is replenished daily for use.
- Attend continual education to update skills and knowledge on palliative nursing care.
Requirements:
- Completed primary / secondary school leaving examination.
- Completed ISC (ITE Skills Certificate) Homecare Course/Certificate in Eldercare from NYP/Certificate in Organising for successful ageing from NYP.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare sector preferred.
- Mature, proactive, meticulous and able to multi-task.
- Good team player
- Has initiative and able to work with persons of diverse background and ethnicity.
- Able to comprehend spoken and written English.
- Able to comprehend Mandarin or dialects would be helpful for communicating with non-English speaking patients
- Familiar with MS office applications.

- Eligible candidates are eligible for a one-time Retention Bonus of $3,000 upon completion of one year service.
