Job Description
This project will study and propose feasible solution to retrofit existing coastal protection structures. Special feature of this proposed solution is that it must be able to reduce seawater seepage, using innovative way of impervious material. The solution must also be modular in nature, such that it can be stack onto the existing seawall or the previously installed layer.
This research engineer will be responsible for the conduct of literature review, planning, designing, and carrying out of laboratory modelling on the proposed solutions – in both 1g scaled model and in geotechnical centrifuge model. He/she will perform the data collection and data analysis.
Job Requirements
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil) or related field.
- Has strong basic geotechnical knowledge.
- Be able to write technical reports and prepare technical presentation.
- Be an independent researcher.
- Highly motivated in doing research work.
- Innovative in thinking.
- Able to work in a team.
- Strong communication ability - both oral and written.
- Open to fixed term contract
