Job Summary:
The Purchasing and Logistic Executive is responsible for handling the procurement and logistics functions within the company. This role involves ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, products, and services, as well as coordinating the efficient transportation, storage, and distribution of goods. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong negotiation and communication skills, and have the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery capabilities.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure optimal cost-efficiency and compliance to project requirements.
- Sending purchase orders and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure timely procurement of necessary materials.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their purchasing needs and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or invoicing.
Logistics:
- Coordinate transportation and delivery of goods to and from suppliers and customers.
- Ensure that all shipments comply with legal regulations and company policies regarding safety and environmental standards.
- Manage warehouse operations, including inventory control, storage, and dispatch of goods.
- Work with third-party logistics providers and freight forwarders to optimize shipping routes and reduce costs.
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery, providing status updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Handle import and export documentation and ensure compliance with customs regulations.
Key Requirements:
- Education: Diploma/ Trade Certificate in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or logistics roles. Experience in marine/ oil & gas is a plus.
- Skills:Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles.
- Understanding of international trade laws and customs regulations.
