TRM is a senior level position responsible for a MNC Bank's portfolio of transactions from mandate through to deal maturity consisting of bond, escrow, account bank and loans. Working with clients (their advisors) and other market participants alongside internal stakeholders (legal, business, risk, compliance). You will close deals and ensure that questions which arise during the deal lifecycle are addressed.
Requirements
- Transaction Relationship Manager.
- To negotiate debt capital market transactions from the perspective of trustee and agent.
- The primary point of contact for a portfolio of agency and trust transactions consisting of Bonds, Loans, Escrow and Account Bank deals.
- A flexible mindset for interpreting documents and dealing with a broad range of queries from arrangers, issuer/ borrower or holders. Logical and calm approach to problem solving whilst dealing with multiple work streams.
- Negotiation of documents following an in house playbook with requirements from a legal, business, operations, risk and compliance to maintain company's standards.
- Solid understanding of banking policies and downstream impacts on clients along with operational knowledge and how these are reflected in documentation.
- Collaborative approach to stakeholder management to better understand business concerns and know how to relay these to the clients and to escalate promptly when required.
- Support the agency and trust business by improving processes and procedures and working on ad-hoc projects required by the business.
- Be of an inquisitive nature to create a rapport and build relationships with clients and market participants and to represent the company's brand.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or above in legal or business related discipline
- 5 years or more of debt markets experience gained in a financial institution or law firm PQE 3+
- Previous corporate trust, agency & trust and/or loan agency expertise is preferred.
- Ability to review and make recommendations on transaction legal documentation and liaise with legal counsel
- English fluent written/ verbal communication skills with Chinese preferred
- Ability to handle multiple transactions/matters simultaneously and priorities accordingly
- Client-focused; pro-active with flexible attitude
- Team player with a sense of responsibility and collaborative spirit
