Our Growth Market Analyst Program in Singapore is a 24-months’ structured rotation development program with a 1-year business assignment that offers you the opportunity to be part of a dynamic work environment alongside industry experts to explore different front-office functions and gain hands-on experience. The individual will help to support and increase SMBC’s multi franchise banking footprint in our ASEAN countries
Growth Market Analyst Program
In the 24-months program structure, it will consist of 4 rotations in Structured Finance, Specialize Products and Corporate Banking (Sector Banking teams). You will learn about:
Risk and/or Credit
Understand how the business manages their credit risk. Provide oversight and challenge on risk being taken through deals across our portfolio
Client Coverage
Support building relationships, sourcing deals, understand ASEAN customers through research, analysis, and due diligence
Products
Pitching and marketing offerings, financial modelling, executing deals, building in depth product knowledge
These structured learnings will help you build a holistic understanding of our front office departments.
Upon successful completion of the program, you will have an opportunity to do a 1-year business assignment before embarking on an exciting career in our Asia Growing Markets Department.
Who are we looking for?
We are in search of enthusiastic individuals with an enterprise and agile mindset looking to launch their career in banking and finance.
- Fresh graduates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree are welcome to apply. University graduates with up to 2 years work experience are also welcome to apply.
- Degrees majoring in Finance/ Economics/ Political Science/ Accountancy/ Law/ Engineering is beneficial to understand the work, we also welcome individuals from other relevant degree background to apply.
- The successful candidate must be available to start in January 2025.
Additional valued skills/experience:
- Proven record of academic achievement (minimum: Second Upper Class)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent quantitative and numeric skills.
- Ability to work under time pressure and maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to details.
- Diversified internship experiences in Financial Institutions.
- Demonstrate good knowledge of ASEAN markets.
- Fluency in English and another ASEAN language is beneficial to communicate with ASEAN customers and stakeholders for the role.
- Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
- Proactiveness, positive work and learning attitude.
