As a Counsellor, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Identifying and Assessing risks: This involves the ability to recognize potential risks in moderately complex cases by gathering and integrating various pieces of information. This skill is crucial for developing effective intervention plans and ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Using Professional Tools and Templates: Utilizing established tools and templates to guide staff in conducting case assessments and planning interventions.This helps to ensure consistency and adherence to best practices within the organization.
  • Advocacy for Vulnerable Families: Representing the centre in advocating for vulnerable families to have equal access to opportunities. This may involve collaborating with other agencies, participating in community initiatives and raising awareness about the needs of these families.
  • Group Work and Community Work: Participating in client and community assessments, facilitating group sessions and implementing specialized intervention strategies. This could include conducting group therapy sessions, leading support groups or organizing community events to address specific needs.
  • Operational Managerial Skills: Supporting senior professionals in implementing the center's operational processes, policies and protocols. This may include assisting with staff training, ensuring compliance with regulations and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Additional Duties: Being flexible and willing to take on other tasks as assigned by the Head of the Center. This could involve anything from administrative duties to participating in special projects or committees.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Social Work / Counseling / Psychology or Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • At least 3years relevant experience in the social service sector doing social work or counseling
