Regional Finance Partnering Director

The Finance Partnering Director is a strategic role, sits on the EM FLT and responsible for leading the Planning, Forecasting and Business Partnering for the Region of ~50+ countries with a Turnover of £3.4Bn. Role reports and works very closely with the VP Finance for EM

The Regional Director is required to display strong business partnering skills to understand the local issues of each market, Area and Region and resolve them or liaise with the central project team, other support groups and Finance Directors to ensure smooth planning for the region.

Responsible for driving the Cross Functional Core Commercial Cycle (CCC) and MPR review process, the role requires high amount of stakeholder management.

The Planning director is the Lead business Partner for General Medicine Products and works very close with EM VP General Medicine and her team.

Key Responsibilities

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities as follows:

  • Planning & Forecasting: Driving and overseeing all Planning activities for EM with the support of P&F Hub. This includes MYE, LQE, Plan, Flip, Rollover. All presentations and offline templates as well as ad hoc analysis for Planning Cycle. Month End performance commentary and monthly as well as Quarterly OFCF process is included in this.
  • Drive CCC process: Leading CCC process from Finance for EM. This includes reviewing monthly CCC for markets, preparing gap analysis and presenting in EM S&OP. Leading Segmentation process, driving Forecasting capabilities and reliability improvement.
  • Drive MPR Process: Lead the finance MPR process and supporting the VP Finance. Preparing and owning EM MPR with Segment every month. Supporting VP with market MPRs and ensuring Finance content to markets.
  • Gen Med Business Partner: Supporting the VP for Gen Med in driving strategy for brand focus and resource optimization for each market. This includes preparing for MPR, Business reviews, working with CTC and NRM teams to identify opportunities across markets. Making external market analysis and prognosis to identify poor performance and supporting Gen Med team in root causing and resolution.
  • Business Development: Working very closely with VP Finance and SVP Region in Confidential Business development projects.
  • EM FLT Projects: As a member for EM FLT taking ownership and delivering on projects which is the priority objective for the year for the VP Finance and EM FLT.
  • Ad HOCs on business requirements: The role has extensive level of AD hoc deliverables which are as per the current business needs of the Region. This is one of the most important aspects of the role and requires pace and flexibility to deliver on this objective.
  • Talent Development: Although the role does not have direct reports but working with Hub team members across P&F and C&C and with other FBPs of the markets to upscale their knowledge and skills and for their grooming.
  • ROI and Expense management: Set ROI standards for Forecasting and regular monitoring to ensure adequate allocation of scarce resources to drive double digit growth for EM.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree in Economics, Business or Finance
  • Min 10 years of experience in demonstrating advance financial knowledge of accounting, model analysis evaluation, forecasting and strategic planning.
  • Min 5 years of experience working within a complex non finance matric team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internationally recognized MBA or Finance qualification
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and lead discussions with Senior Leaders.
  • Effective options analysis, scenario planning and decision making.
  • Good knowledge of GSK Finance standards, systems, and processes.
  • Finance experience related to Core Commercial Cycle, Manufacturing and Commercial preferred e.g. Finance Partnering experience.
