Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform disassembly, servicing, and installation of plant mechanical equipment (e.g., Pumps, valves, gearboxes, bearings, cylinders, belts).
- Understand fundamental mechanical concepts such as alignment, welding procedures and requirements, vibration monitoring, balancing of rotating equipment, thermal expansion, torque.
- Equip and utilize basic power tools and hand tools such as hand drill, chain block, torque wrench, dial gauge etc.
- Perform corrective maintenance to diagnose and troubleshoot plant mechanical equipment failure.
- Comply with the HSSE requirements and the PTW standards of the plant.
- Carry out necessary paperwork for maintenance jobs such as preparation of MSRA to reporting and recording of jobs done.
- Prepare reports, maintain records, and requisition supplies and parts.
- Inspect and supervise work done by external vendors.
- Execute scheduled, routine, predictive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Report progress of the mechanical maintenance activities and keep equipment maintenance history records. Feedback requirement of spares and contract services for maintenance activities to your reporting officer.
- Follow maintenance work methods/ procedures/ frequencies for execution.
- Daily arrangement of the necessary resources and facilities for timely completion of the jobs.
- Execute annual maintenance plan and update history in SAP incl PM & CM jobs.
- Identify and eliminate hazards in workplaces.
- Execute maintenance strategy for various mechanical equipment and improve reliability and availability.
- Suggest and implement modification jobs, implement OEM improvement program & feedback for root cause analysis for an mechanical related failure.
- Successful candidate may be appointed as part of the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) (training will be provided).
- Perform other duties as required by reporting officer.
Qualification, Skills and Experience
- Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent Engineering discipline.
- Preferably with three (3) years of experience plant Mechanical maintenance.
- Experience working in the process plant industry is an advantage.
- Experience in Boiler / Utilities plant is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- The candidate should be independent, self-motivated, result-driven and have a good sense of teamworking skills.
- Good attitude and possess the willingness to learn on the job.
