As part of our IT Infrastructure team, the incumbent will support & contribute to the IT enterprise architecture, capacity planning, design, evaluation, and deployment of IT systems, covering network equipment, IT services, applications, productivity and collaboration technologies.
The Opportunity
- Design, implement, manage, and monitor all installed IT systems, Network, Cloud Infrastructure
- Proactively monitor and protect system boundaries, patch release status, and keeping systems and networks hardened against attacks, ensure the highest levels of systems, network and infrastructure availability
- Maintain high level of Network/System Service Availability
- Collaborate with Product / Application teams on the design, provision and implementation of infrastructure. Drive the design of network infrastructure, information and operational support systems. Maintain and upkeep the design structure on changes.
- Perform hardware and software installations, configurations and updates as needed
- Implement and maintain network/system security measures to protect against unauthorized access, breaches, and vulnerabilities.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
- Provide 2nd level support and work with other teams for problem resolution
- Liaise and work with vendors and subcontractors verifying deliverables and do follow-ups with issues
- Supports periodic audit exercises and follows up with the remediation actions to close all audit findings
- Ensuring defined IT compliance processes and policies (Operations, Communications, Services and Security) are met.
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation, configuration, Operating Procedures and reports
- Constantly looking for improvement/enhancement initiatives on the quality of IT operations and maintenance.
The Candidate:
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Engineering or related
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience in the capacity of System Engineer ideally in a medium-large size organization
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, Wireless, etc
- Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Fortinet, Checkpoint, Aruba, Ruckus, etc.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are a plus.
- Sound knowledge and hands-on experience in at least three of the following areas: Windows, Network (Wireless, LAN & WAN), Firewall – Fortigate/Checkpoint, VMware, AWS, O365, AD, OKTA, as well as SolarWinds
- Experience in cyber security hygiene and processes
- Experience in Project Management, ITIL and service desks preferred
- Good communicator with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team environment to engage and motivate team members
- Ability to multi-task, possess good communication skills, a service-oriented mindset and has an approachable personality
- Positive attitude and able to work well with culturally and geographically diverse teams
- Working experience in IT Service / System Integrator, multi-cloud environment and experience in project management and database would be added advantage
