· Be involved and lead the in-house maintenance team in all daily facilities maintenance matters of the overall Hotel Facility including guest rooms, all M&E Applications, HVAC/AHU systems, Fire protection systems, emergency power systems and related equipment
· Proactive in monitoring requisite maintenance and building services that must be undertaken to ensure that the necessary preventive and corrective maintenance works are adhered to
· Develop, implement and maintain preventive maintenance and energy conservation programs for guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, various building systems and thereby ensuring compliance to both local and international standards
· Facilitate and coordinate the works of the maintenance team in all daily facilities maintenance issues and meet contractual obligations
· Deal with matters involving contractors (in-house and external), as well as coordinating projects in order to keep it in a state of good and operational condition and in compliance of all relevant legislation, standards and requirements governing the maintenance and management of Hotel
· Prioritize, plan and assign daily work duties to engineering team members
· Be aware of requirements in terms of safety standards and checks that these standards are implemented and maintained in all service and guest areas, and takes any necessary corrective action
· Provide input for preparation of Capital Expenditure Budget
· Constantly find new ways and means to improve operational work flow and achieve efficiency
· Kept abreast with local and international Engineering standard
· Facilitate the training and career development culture in the department
· Ensure compliance of Brand standards and that these are reviewed on a regular basis
· Proactively manages the Quality Assurance process
· Conduct regular quality audits in the department
· Ensure that work area is maintained clean, safe and organized.
· Educate team on safety regulations, engineering policies and purchasing procedures and other company standards
· Ensure Safety for all Guests and Team Members alike as per OS&H guidelines
· Familiar with all Risk management and emergency producers of the hotel and fulfills this duties accordingly
· Handle queries and complaints in a timely, efficient and diplomatic manner, and record the incidents in log-book
· Involved in the establishing, following and monitoring of departmental budget
· Monitor and implement control procedures
· Ensure SOX compliance
· Ensure cost control practices are implemented and followed through appropriate monthly P&L reviews and follow ups
· Manage operating equipment, FF&E and equipment inventories pro-actively
· Encourage productivity and operational excellence and efficiency
· Provide direction and support to the team on a daily basis
· Keep excellent relationships with team, peers, and all other team members of the hotel
· Develop all team members of the department with appropriate training and coaching
· To ensure that training needs are identified, addressed, and reported to Training Manager
· Conduct and facilitate the Team Member Performance review process
· Ensure departmental communication meetings are conducted
· Assist in hotel operations when required
FIRE SAFETY MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES
· Update and review of the fire emergency plan/ IPP plan for the building
· Attend fire safety committee meetings, advice and record all proceedings
· Conduct table top exercises, briefings and fire evacuation drills
· Conduct monthly inspections for the building and submitting reports
· Assist in Fire Certificate renewal and compliance to Fire Safety Codes etc.
· Preparation and submission of FSM annual report
