Job Responsibilities
- Perform engineering design, calculations and analysis
- Check and review purchase specification
- Review and correct drawings
- Prepare test procedures
- Review vendor quotations and vendor drawings
- Handle contract-bidding engineering specifications and enquiry
- Monitor the progress of drawings, documents and purchase specification
- Perform quality assurance check of drawings
- Seek innovative ideas / solutions to improve current designs, work methods and procedures
- Liaise with Production Department to resolve site problems
- Liaise with Project Management Department to ensure on-time delivery of project
- Liaise with Marketing Department on engineering specifications for project bidding
- Liaise with customer, vendors and regulatory bodies on engineering design matters
- Direct and guide the activities of subordinates assigned to him
- Manage the career development and training of subordinates
Job Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in marine / offshore industry
- Knowledge of functional and operational requirements related to design of all types of ships and offshore vessels or platforms
- In-depth knowledge and experience of his engineering field
- Well versed with regulatory and class requirements
- Possess effective communication and people skills
- Possess supervisory skill to coach and motivate staff
- Able to work in a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering design software (eg Autocad or SmartMarine 3D)
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
