Job Summary: The Commercial Analyst is responsible for analysing and optimizing the hotel’s revenue and commercial performance. This includes preparing forecasts, budgets, and projections while managing key revenue streams across all channels, with a particular focus on Online Travel Agencies (OTAs). The Commercial Analyst will use data-driven insights to influence pricing strategies, sales efforts, and inventory management, working closely with multiple departments to maximize profitability across all areas of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue & Commercial Analysis: Monitor and analyze revenue, profit, and demand data for hotel rooms and function space, with a focus on maximizing profitability. Prepare and manage forecasts, budgets, and daily/weekly projections to support the hotel’s commercial strategies. Use data to critique sales strategies and provide historical and future revenue analysis to identify opportunities for growth.
- Focus on OTA Performance: Analyze and optimize OTA channels as a key focus, ensuring competitive rates, availability, and promotions that drive revenue. Implement rate strategies and promotional offers tailored to OTA platforms, ensuring alignment with the hotel’s overall revenue goals. Identify opportunities for improvement and adjust strategies based on real-time data to enhance OTA performance.
- Inventory & Yield Management: Assist in managing room inventory, pricing, and availability across all channels to optimize occupancy and revenue. Support the use of revenue management systems to analyze demand patterns and adjust pricing strategies accordingly.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and F&B teams to align commercial strategies and maximize revenue across all departments. Provide data insights to support promotional activities, pricing packages, and operational decisions that drive revenue.
- Reporting & Forecasting: Generate detailed reports on OTA performance, overall revenue metrics, and progress against forecasts, providing actionable insights for senior management. Contribute to long-term revenue planning through accurate forecasting and budgeting.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Analytical Expertise: Strong proficiency in data analysis, particularly with OTA performance metrics and broader commercial revenue data.
- Revenue Management Systems: Familiarity with systems like PMS, CRS, and channel managers, and experience working with OTA platforms such as Expedia, Booking.com, and Agoda.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail in managing rates, inventory, and OTA strategies.
- Problem-Solving:Ability to identify and act on opportunities to optimize revenue streams and improve performance.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field. MBA preferred or similar advanced degree.
- 5+ years of experience in revenue management, commercial analysis, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Experience working with OTAs and a strong understanding of their role in driving hotel revenue.
