We are looking for Marine Technicians who will be responsible for maintaining and repairing various marine vessels and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of marine mechanics, electronics, and systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of boats and ships. The Marine Technician will work closely with engineers, vessel operators, and other technical staff to diagnose issues, perform routine maintenance, and implement repairs.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on marine engines, propulsion systems, and other mechanical and electrical components of vessels.
- Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot issues in marine systems.
- Installation: Install new equipment and systems on vessels, including navigation aids, communication devices, and safety equipment.
- Inspections: Perform regular inspections of vessels to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repairs performed, including parts used and time taken.
- Testing: Conduct tests on repaired systems to verify their proper operation and ensure that all repairs meet manufacturer and regulatory standards.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with vessel owners and operators about maintenance needs and repairs performed.
- Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and standards to ensure a safe working environment both onshore and offshore.
Qualifications:
Education
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Technical training or certification in marine technology or a related field is highly desirable.
Experience
- At least 2-3 years of experience in marine maintenance and repair with navigation, communication & automation equipment.
- Experience with onboard vessels
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment specific to marine systems.
