Position Overview:
The Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) will lead the scientific strategy and development at Eyris. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the validation and implementation of our cutting-edge algorithms, ensuring that they are rigorously tested and clinically applicable. The CSO will drive innovation, guide scientific research, and liaise with academic and clinical partners to ensure that Eyris’ technology remains clinically relevant and at the forefront of the oculomics field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scientific Leadership: Develop and execute the company’s scientific vision, ensuring alignment with Eyris’ long-term goals in oculomics.
- Algorithm Implementation and Validation: Lead the process for clinical validation and implementation of Eyris’ pipeline of AI-driven algorithms for retinal fundus imaging.
- Research and Development: Oversee and guide the development of new scientific strategies and technologies related to retinal imaging and predictive health.
- Partnership Management: Collaborate with academic institutions, clinical partners, and key stakeholders to advance research and translation for successful real-world use cases.
- Capacity Building and Education: Oversee training for key stakeholders and leverage knowledge-sharing platforms to enhance know-how around integrating Eyris’ technology into routine clinical practice and healthcare ecosystems for optimal impact.
- Regulatory and Compliance Oversight: Ensure that all scientific research and product development adhere to regulatory standards for clinical use, including local and international guidelines.
- Data and Outcome Analysis: Oversee the relevant collection, analysis, and publication of clinical and research data related to the effectiveness and clinical applications of Eyris’ technology.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering, product, and business teams to ensure smooth incorporation of scientific advancements into commercial products and strategies.
- Innovation Pipeline: Identify new areas for research and development, expanding the pipeline of predictive algorithms for other health/disease states.
Qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant scientific discipline in Medicine or Health Adjacent fields.
- >10 years of experience in a leadership role within an academic, or health-tech setting.
- Proven track record in developing and validating healthcare technologies.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks for healthcare technologies.
- Experience in managing partnerships with academic and clinical collaborators.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate scientific concepts into practical applications.
