- Responsible for day-to-day project supervision for repairs defects and maintenance work on vessels
- Attend VSCC meeting, project meeting, production meeting etc
- Ensure work daily assigned are carried out effectively and productively to meet customer specifications and requirements
- Ensure safety, quality of work and meet delivery deadline
- Ensure good co-ordination and communication between the team, SRM, other departments and customers when work is carried out
- Carry out troubleshooting and rectification of mechanical/diesel defects.
- Perform joint inspection and acceptance with ship representative
- Hands on work in rectification of defects and maintenance of mechanical components
- Conduct risk assessment, onsite risk assessment and toolbox meeting to the workers daily before any works to be carried out
- Prepare and raise PR to purchase material or Direct Requisite List (DRL) if required
- Focus on quality workmanship requirement and with zero defects
- Perform QC check upon completion of work with customer
- Liaise with customer for subcontractors’ inspections
- Any other duty or assignment the department handles
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Naval Arch /Offshore / Marine / Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering
- Able to use IMTE tools such as Torque Wrench, pressure gauges, Internal and external micrometer
- Able to read shipbuilding construction or assembly drawing/2D Drawings/Schematic Drawings
- Able to manage a team of Assistant engineers, Technicians, workers (including foreign) and subcontractors
- Adaptable and versatile to changes due to on-site situations and client's operational requirements
- Able to work under outdoor conditions, including grease and dust
- Must be able to be hands-on for onsite works daily
- Able to work on weekends when required
- Able to work under pressure while displaying teamwork attributes
