RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Social Worker/Case Worker in the National Anti-Violence & Sexual Harassment Helpline (NAVH), you will help to attend to violence-related enquiries that come through the NAVH. You will be involved in supporting the following tasks required to right site these violence-related calls:
- Engage caller to understand severity of situation
- Gather and verify information with other sources (e.g. schools, family members, relatives, government databases)
- Conduct risk and safety assessment for cases
- Determine response time and right-siting of cases
- Engage agencies to ensure warm transfer of cases
- Engage key family members to work with an agency
Possess Bachelor Degree In Social Work or a relevant degree in social sciences or related discipline(s) (e.g. psychology)
OTHER INFORMATIONKey Requirement
- Prior experience as a social worker in violence specialist centre and child protection work related field would be an advantage
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
- Be willing to work shift hours, where required, as the NAVH is a 24/7 helpline (shift allowance provided)
- Good written and communication skills
- Ability to converse in mother tongues e.g. Malay, Tamil or Mandarin would be an advantage
- Able to work calmly in highly stressful situations and environment
- Good engagement, assessment, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
- Good analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong planning and administration skills
