Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation of ISM and ISPS codes, ensuring compliance with international safety and security standards.
- Lead the implementation and enhancement of the TMSA program, ensuring ongoing compliance and conducting regular assessments.
- Develop and enforce HSSE policies and procedures aligned with TMSA standards, regulatory requirements, and company guidelines.
- Perform regular risk assessments and safety audits, identifying hazards and ensuring alignment with TMSA benchmarks.
- Create and deliver HSSE training programs to ensure crew awareness and adherence to TMSA compliance and safety practices.
- Conduct investigations of safety incidents and near misses, documenting outcomes as per TMSA protocols and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure adherence to international regulations and maintain compliance with TMSA, SIRE, BIRE, and legal requirements for oil tanker operations.
- Develop and test emergency response plans, ensuring crew readiness for emergencies such as oil spills and fires, in accordance with TMSA standards.
- Monitor environmental performance, ensuring compliance with waste management and pollution prevention practices, in line with TMSA objectives.
- Keep accurate records of HSSE performance, incidents, audits, and training, providing regular TMSA-related reports to senior management.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, to promote HSSE best practices and TMSA compliance.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
Requirements:
- Seagoing experience as a Senior Officer on tankers or 2 -3 years of shore experience with a willingness to handle tankers.
- Candidates who possess a CoC Class 2 or 3 will be advantageous.
- Familiarity with international and local maritime regulations and requirements.
