Job Specification • Overall responsible for the QA/QC and R&D functions • To lead and ensure a productive and high-performance QA and R&D work environment • To provide effective and efficient technical support services to support the company’s business growth and operations. • To develop and revise the quality assurance framework for the company and to modify and improve the existing production standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), when necessary. • To collaborate with all departments, customer, suppliers and government regulatory bodies to ensure that quality is a high priority in the company. • To drive projects and processes to ensure compliance with the various food safety and hygiene standards and requirements. • To lead and report on quality audits, identify and resolve problems highlighted in yield reports. • Ensure that all food safety, quality related and non-compliance issues are investigated and that corrective measures are implemented and adhered to. • Oversee of GMP and food safety training for Production personnel. • To be involved in the feasibility study for setting-up overseas factories. • To perform new product development from ingredient sourcing, laboratory and kitchen trials to commercialization, focusing especially on sauces. • To conduct continual improvement of existing products. • To conceptualize new and innovative products. • To source for new and alternative suppliers. • To conduct sensory evaluation and approval of new and/or alternative raw materials. • To prepare product costings based on raw materials and manufacturing costs. • Collaborate with the Marketing department to understand the customers’ needs and requirements and to also assist in troubleshooting customers’ technical issues (when necessary). • Ensure all product creation complies with customer, government and legal regulatory requirements within the country of use. • To conduct product stability and shelf-life studies of new products. • To develop innovative solutions to help grow and value-add to customers’ requirements, ensuring that any solutions provided are within the stipulated cost parameters and manufacturing capability. • To facilitate the handover of new product(s) so as to ensure the smooth transition from test kitchen to Production. This includes liaising with the Technical / Production Manager to ensure that the product development fits the site capabilities. • Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory. • Liaison with China customers and distributors to support China market. • Any other appropriate duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in food science or related discipline • Preferably with 4-5 years working experience as QA/R&D in food manufacturing • Able to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. • Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills • Able to work independently with less supervision.
