UI/UX Designer Lead

Are you as excited as we are when we talk about the distribution of bulk liquids by the world’s largest and most sophisticated fleet of chemical and parcel tankers, with over 70 deep-sea ships?

We are looking for an UI / UX Designer Lead. You will be joining a professional and international team with extensive knowledge of the industry. You will be working closely with your team in reviewing the work, outcomes and ensuring consistency of design and approach for UI/UX.


Stolt Tankers a division of Stolt-Nielsen Limited (SNL), is the specialist in transporting bulk liquids: Chemicals, clean petroleum products, vegetable oils, biofuels and oleochemicals. We are continuously seeking how we can add value for our customers.


What You Will Be Doing

As our UI/ UX Designer Lead, you are required to maximize the talents of your teams. You will work closely with User Experience Designers, Visual Designers, User Researchers, Front End Engineers, Business Analysts, Copywriters, and other Marketers on a regular basis to ensure the full experience of the UI/UX of the web application or mobile application is being taken care of.


Key Responsibilities

  • UI/UX Practice Lead in the Digital function leading a team of UI/UX designers (internal and/or sourced from vendors) in reviewing the work, outcomes and ensuring consistency of design and approach for UI/UX.
  • Lead design workshops and customer engagement interviews to drive customer insights using a structured approach.
  • Dive Stolt Tankers’ internal and client-facing touchpoints to make strategic recommendations (e.g., personalized user flows, better process flows, more prominent corporate identity).
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to non-design colleagues such as Product owners, Digital Development Lead, SCRUM masters and business stakeholders across the company as an available resource for all things related to design.
  • Gathering and evaluating user requirements, in collaboration with product owners and development teams.
  • Illustrating design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps.
  • Designing graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets.
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how products function and look like.
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness).
  • Highly communicative and responsive both within the team and to stakeholders across the company while managing a large volume of ongoing projects.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Design, Creative Design, or relevant discipline.
  • 5+ years of industry experience as a UI/UX designer and/or manager in a cross-functional UI/UX team, dedicated to the complete UI/UX design and development lifecycle of several successfully launched desktop and mobile applications, with at least 2 years in Parcel Chemical Tankers Industry.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Zeplin and experience using Prototyping software (Figma, Sketch, Marvel, Adobe XD, InVision).
  • Knowledge of Scrum and Design Thinking.
  • Customer interview techniques and customer journey mapping experience.
  • Running design thinking workshop with business stakeholders and cocreation session with customers.
  • Proven success designing and optimizing high-quality product experiences for a variety of platforms including desktop, web and mobile. Experience in B2B platforms is an advantage.
  • Mastery of UX interaction and design principles and deliverables including rapid prototyping, concept diagrams, user scenarios, wireframes, flows, experience maps, design patterns and annotated comps.
  • Architect system wide design solutions that satisfy both product and engineering requirements.
  • Working knowledge of the capabilities and constraints of web front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap as well as iOS components and Material Design.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to discuss and explain design options, detail oriented and a critical thinker
