Job Descriptions:
- Acted as the primary liaison between the laboratory and clients for routine daily sample analysis.
- Organized and participated in workflow management and execution.
- Prioritization of urgent and regulatory testing.
- Recruitment of suitably qualified staff.
- Preparing advance rosters, including supervisory and signatory staff.
- Coordinating staff to meet KPIs related to turnaround times (TATs) and customer needs.
- Ensuring qualified and trained staff are available to meet TAT.
- Keep management informed of operational or productivity issues as they arise.
- Provide management with information for annual budgeting and monthly reporting, including resource usage and productivity metrics.
- Review and update laboratory procedures as needed.
- Validate and release test reports to customers.
- Train staff on test procedures, equipment operations, and laboratory protocols.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to testing methods or equipment.
- Write and execute method or equipment validation protocols.
- Initiate or revise procedures and forms, and conduct method validations.
- Attend regular team meetings and demonstrate leadership to motivate the team.
- Ensure clarity of roles and efficient deployment of staff resources.
- Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement and actively promote staff development.
- Participate in new projects and assist in implementing business improvements.
- Ensure compliance with systems in collaboration with the Quality & Compliance Department.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and complaints, keeping them informed of any delays.
- Complete all internal and external audits and corrective actions as required.
- Engage in workplace safety practices to promote a safe environment.
- Oversee and participate in equipment maintenance while troubleshooting any issues that arise.
- Manage risks associated with microbiological and biomolecular analyses of wastewater samples and water matrices.
- Oversee laboratory financial planning and execution.
- Lead strategic goal planning and laboratory operation management.
- Drive capability development and perform validation of results and report issuance.
- Review and write SOPs, plan method studies, and execute proficiency testing (PT).
- Lead by example while advocating for EHS, integrity, compliance, and ethics.
- Evaluate staff performance and manage manpower and resources.
- Escalate laboratory issues and serve as a liaison between the lab and management.
- Research and spearhead operational improvement initiatives.
- Execute additional tasks as directed by the business.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Educational Background in Bio/Life Sciences & Microbiology, or Bio-Tech / Bio-Molecular Education, or equivalent with 12 years related laboratry experience (Masters & PhD preferred).
- Experienced with method-related tasks, including development, verification, validation, and enhancement.
- Experience in both Micro-Biology as well as PCR and Bio-Molecular Work will be a huge advantage.
- Possesses SAC Singlas signatory for Microbiology &/or Bio-Molecular and laboratory operation and management experience.
- Minimum 6 years as a laboratory manager, including proven technical knowledge and laboratory experience.
- Experienced in audit & CAPA management skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Excellent managerial skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Expert knowledge of laboratory health and safety protocols.
- Interacts with operational personnel, scientific personnel, and department management.
