Our client is a young and mission-driven organisation headquartered in Singapore. They are a privately funded and non-profit organisation founded on the belief that good governments are the foundation of flourishing, prosperous communities, and nations.
They support governments globally to develop capabilities, doing so through training programmes, governments projects and partnerships, and knowledge creation.
They are practitioner focused and internationally oriented and are managed by former public service leaders from across the world and draw upon a wealth of practitioner experience and knowledge from our global network of experts.
They have worked with governments in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Role summary:
The candidate will produce and manage the production of the client’s knowledge products, especially their major (proprietary) publications such as the Good Government Index report and Governance Matters magazine among others.
Some of the specific job responsibilities are listed below:
- Generating ideas for features and stories for publications. This could involve desktop research and review of data to understand the underlying trends.
- Commissioning the production of features and stories.
- Coordination with different writers, contributors, and designers, to ensure that the publications are produced in a timely manner.
- Managing the distribution of the publications, and coordinate publicity through social media channels.
- Research, writing and editing articles, features, and stories.
- Conducting interviews with contributors of features and stories.
- Undertaking general research and writing.
Experience and Skillsets:
- Possessed a Humanity Degree or Masters with at least 6 years of experience in journalism, or a communications role that involved research and coordinating the development of publications, as well as writing and editing.
- Some experience working in government, or working closely with government agencies, would be a major advantage.

- Be able to manage several concurrent workstreams and stay organised, while proactively managing timelines for each of these well.
- Be adaptable. This means being willing to step out of one’s main role at times and pivot according to organisational requirements.
- Be intellectually curious and agile.
- Possess a strong belief in their mission and goals, with the willingness to learn and grow alongside the organisation.
