Insworld Institute is a private secondary school in Singapore for local and international students. We teach a British curriculum, adapted to suit the needs of the international learner.
We work only with small class sizes (4-12 students), allowing us to focus on the needs of each individual student.
Mathematics Teacher
Pearson Edexcel International GCSE (O-Level) and International A-Level
(Full Time)
Primary Role
- Teach Mathematics at International GCSE and International A-Level, including modules in Statistics, Physics , Mechanics and Further Mathematics
- Set and mark homework tasks and formative and summative assessment tests
- Maintain attendance, achievement and class management records
- Monitor academic progress of students
- Provide regular reports on student performance
- Attend meetings to review performance
- Act as Personal Tutor (academic mentor) to some students
This role would be suitable for a recent graduate who is looking to expand their experience of teaching. On-going training will be given.
Additional Responsibilities
- Help maintain high levels of student discipline
- Implement strategies to help ensure students achieve the best possible examination results
- Take an active role in promoting the welfare and wellbeing of students at the School
- Take an active role in extra-curricular activities
- Be available to give extra tuition to students who require this assistance
- Undertake any other duties as directed
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- A university honours degree in Mathematics or related subject
- Enthusiasm to teach and develop pedagogical experience
- Ability to teach small groups, focusing on the needs of each student
Desirable
- Familiarity with Pearson Edexcel Mathematics programmes at IAL, International GCSE
- Ability to teach an additional subject (Physics)
- Experience of teaching international students using English as the medium of instruction
