What the role is

The Resource and Sustainability Group (RSG) is responsible for promoting environmental sustainability. The divisions (i.e. Carbon Mitigation Division, Carbon Planning Division, Sustainability Division, and Waste Management Division) under RSG implement regulations, programs and incentives to mitigate greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions, ensure a sustainable waste-to-resource management system, and enhance resource efficiency in the people, public and private sectors.

What you will be working on

As an Executive, you will be required to support the function of the Carbon Pricing and Collection Branch (CPC Branch)/ Industry Regulation 2 Department (IR2D) in CMD. Below highlights the key responsibilities to be performed.

Carbon tax collection

  • Deal with general enquiries from taxable facilities on their purchase and surrendering of fixed-priced carbon credits via the EDMA system for their carbon tax payment
  • Liaise with NEA’s vendor for EDMA support to resolve reported technical issues by corporates and to user test the resolved issues in EDMA. This includes user testing for other enhancements in EDMA.
  • Perform simple data compilation (e.g. Microsoft Excel) to support reporting and data analysis
  • Update NEA website on carbon tax collection matters

Accreditation of independent verifiers

  • Facilitate and assist applicants on their application to NEA for accreditation and reaccreditation
  • Address general queries on the application process and requirements
  • Review submitted applications to ensure that the information furnished are complete
  • Manage logistical arrangements for the evaluation process of the shortlisted candidates (e.g. arrangement of interviews with assessment panel, site visits to applicant’s office to view their governance structure etc)
  • Maintain the EDMA system on the accredited verifiers’ information and update NEA website on accreditation matter

In addition to the above primary roles, you are also required to perform general administrative support roles when required, such as the following:

  • Support CMD on coordination of divisional inputs for reporting on administrative matters (e.g. HR, finance, training, assets) and maintaining the division’s e-registry
  • Support the Directors of the Resource Sustainability Group with their calendars for meetings

What we are looking for

  • Diploma with at least 5 years of experience in administrative support roles
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • A good team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Outgoing and pleasant personality
  • As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
