Job Descriptions
Responsibilities
· Manage all welding related activities
. Lead a team of welding supervisors and workers to supervise all welding works
. Provide advice and solution on welding issues at site
· Supervise and monitor the quality of welding works and progress
· Supervise the welding activities are being carried out as per the project procedures
· Ensure the welding machines, welding accessories are in good working condition & consumables are in good working condition
· Ensure that the welding machines are calibrated and fit for use
· Allocate the job to welders based on their skill level and qualification
· Monitor the welders use correct welding parameters as per approved welding procedures
· Carry out tool box talks about the welding related quality issues
· Identify the best performing welders in liaison with QA/QC inspectors for rewards
· Supervise gouging activities and ensure that the jobs are being carried out as per project procedures
· Guide welders on welding activities and resolve the day-to-day site issues
· Approve welding consumable requests and ensure only project approved consumable brands are used
· Monitor the welding repair works are carried out as per approved procedure
· Monitor the approved welding sequence is followed in the job
· Arrange for qualification of welders in liaison with QA/QC inspectors
. Ensure staff are well trained and skilled to supervise welding works
· Conduct training sessions for welders / gougers related to welding machines/ process & techniques
. Lead all PQR and WQT for the company in liaison with QA/QC Department
. Plan all welding works to meet the project schedule
. Feedback to Construction Manager, QA/QC Manager and Project Manager on the progress of welding works
. Ensure all welding activities are performed in accordance to project specifications and objectives in terms of KPI
. Recommend the type of consumables to be used per project
. Provide an estimation of the consumable’s requirement and consumption per project
. Ensure consumable stock level is always pre-ordered and maintain at optimum level
· Ensure that the welding / gouging jobs is carried out with the required safety standards as per company HSE requirements.
Requirements
· Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field
· Minimum 10 year of relevant experience in structural and piping fabrication welding.
· Knowledge in Topside modules fabrication in Oil and Gas industry
. Welding cert
· Good knowledge in Welding process in piping and structural
· Well versed in welding symbols and basic drawing
· Able to prepare progress reports
. Good planning, organization, control, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills
. Able to motivate in a challenging work environment.
Job Related Information
· Permanent - 5.5 days’ work week | Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, Saturday 8am-12pm
· Office Location: Gul Road| Western part of Singapore
Salary & Benefits
- Monthly Basic Salary will be based on skills and exp.
- OT pay entitlement: OT Flat rate S$8/- per hour
