Skills and qualifications:
• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering
• Min 8 years of professional relevant experience
• Excellent experience and track record in geotechnical design with particular reference to soft compressible soils conditions
• Excellent experience and track record in soil improvement works, with particular reference to PVD and surcharge techniques
• Previous experience with dredging and land reclamation projects,
• Excellent experience and track record in reclamation material and performance quality assessment and final acceptance of the works
• Excellent experience in geotechnical soil investigation and geotechnical tests interpretation, with particular reference to CPT and advance testing for both cohesive and granular soils
• Proficient knowledge of geotechnical database software Holebase and GIS software (in particular qGis)
• Focused, with excellent problem solving skills, proactive, hands on attitude, able to meet tight deadline under pressure.
• Good interpersonal skills and team player, able to establish good business relations with the client and their consultants
Duties & responsibilities:
• Preparation of soil improvement performance reports, including:
- Selection of suitable field and laboratory investigations and associated analysis;
- Settlement analysis and calculations, including backfitting and consolidation analysis;
- Residual settlement calculation;
- Cohesive soils shear strength assessment;
- Use of advance CPT analysis and correlation tools to verify achievement of acceptance criteria
• Preparation of final acceptance reports for the reclamation works
• Geotechnical data and soil interpretation for field and laboratory tests
• Site engineering problem solving, including site inspections
• Preparing (geo)technical reports and supervising the preparation of construction drawings
• Liaising and communicating with Operations/Construction, Sub contractors and Client’s Consultant.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
