1. Beverage Preparation

  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso drinks, tea, and specialty beverages.
  • Use coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment to brew coffee and espresso-based drinks.
  • Follow specific recipes to ensure consistency in beverage preparation.

2. Customer Service

  • Greet customers warmly and take orders in a friendly, professional manner.
  • Engage with customers, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations.
  • Handle complaints or special requests courteously and efficiently.

3. Cash Handling & Point of Sale

  • Operate the cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Accurately process transactions (cash, credit, and digital payments).
  • Maintain knowledge of daily specials, promotions, and discounts.

4. Maintaining Cleanliness & Organization

  • Keep the coffee-making area clean and organized, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and work surfaces regularly.
  • Restock ingredients, coffee beans, syrups, and supplies as needed.

5. Teamwork

  • Collaborate with other baristas and kitchen staff to ensure efficient service.
  • Support colleagues during peak hours and contribute to the smooth operation of the café.

6. Inventory & Supply Management

  • Monitor stock levels and report low supplies to management.
  • Assist in inventory checks and ordering new supplies.

7. Menu Knowledge & Education

  • Stay updated on menu changes, new beverage offerings, and seasonal promotions.
  • Educate customers about different coffee blends, brewing methods, and flavors.
  • Participate in training to improve coffee-making skills and product knowledge.

8. Promoting a Positive Café Atmosphere

  • Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for customers.
  • Arrange seating areas or displays attractively.
  • Engage customers in conversations, helping to build rapport and a loyal customer base.
