Position

The department is responsible for development and maintenance of Capital Market IT applications (in-house and package) used worldwide, covering Front Office (Murex, Apex, Orchestrade…), Back Office (Summit, Calypso…), Market data referential (Asset Control...), Market Risk (in-house application on big data technologies).


The Foreign Exchange (FX) IT division works across the full FX value chain to sustain business activity and enable its acceleration.


This role aims to develop on the Calypso Middle/Back-office package, in project mode as well as maintenance, and to support the “run the bank” function. It requires a deep understanding of the nature of business operations, timing of activities & data flowing through internal and external systems. The build and support team continuously works with business users, infrastructure engineers and system managers.


The hands-on senior BA will join the Delivery team and will run BA activities for both Run and Build the bank. As a senior Business Analyst will have the opportunity to show his leadership skills.


Main responsibilities

Build & change management

  • Analyze enhancement requests for FX, money market and treasury business.
  • Propose solutions in collaboration with architects, technical teams and the business teams.
  • Specifications, workload estimates, planning, test scenarios, release documentation.
  • Coordinate user acceptance tests.
  • Monthly releases, following the team’s milestones for analysis, coding and testing.
  • Support the release roadmap in production.

Incidents and Requests management (business users and other IT teams)

  • Application support, level 3 (BA expert).
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues/bugs.

Continuous improvement

  • Improve operational processes.
  • Coach more junior team members as required.

Qualifications and Profile

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience as a Calypso business analyst on Calypso back office.
  • Experience on Calypso versions v8 to v17.
  • In depth knowledge of Static Data, Workflows, ScheduledTask, Confirmations, Settlements, Messages / Swift messages, Positions, Accounting, Corporate action, Filters, Reporting Framework, and Reconciliation features.
  • Understanding of financial assets (FX, Money market...) and trade lifecycle.
  • Experience with regulatory reporting.
  • Experience in interfacing Calypso with external systems.
  • Hands-on experience in implementation projects.
  • AGILE track record.
  • Experience in implementing NR scenarios.
  • Willing to do L3 Support if required.
  • Willing to work on weekend operations for implementation weekend when required.
  • Good knowledge Microsoft Office (E.g. Excel / Powerpoint), incident management (E.g. Service Now) and other reporting tools
  • Strong analytical or troubleshooting skills
  • Good knowledge in Java, Linux/Unix, Database (E.g. Sybase, Oracle), PL/SQL, Middleware (E.g. MQ Series), File Transfer (E.g. CFT) and batch/Job Scheduling (Control-M).

  • General banking and finance understanding and knowledge
  • Understanding of trade life cycle, financial products (Treasury, FX, Bonds, MM, Credit…)
  • Exposure to Capital Market FO/BO system (E.g. Calypso, Kondor+, Summit, Murex…)
  • Autonomy to include implicit deliverables in assignment based on best practices
  • Strong appetite to learn both functional and technical new domain
  • Appetite to participate to technical market trends and communities
  • Careful observance of standards and processes
  • Strong sense of confidentiality

The candidate should have analytical and problem-solving skills, a pro-active mind-set in security, proven ability to work individually under pressure. Team player with good interpersonal skills. Very good communication skills and keen to work with business users.


Education Requirements

  • Master’s degree in relevant specialties (IT, finance).
  • Minimum 8 years working experience in relevant roles.

Working Hours

  • Work in shift for ASIA region: (9am – 6:30pm SGT)
