Accountant

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions that are in line with statutory and management reporting requirements for the Company.
  • Manage daily operations, including financial performance tracking, cash flow management, and reporting to management.
  • Review and maintain a full set of accounts, including bank reconciliations, accounts receivable/payable (AR/AP) status, and provisions for management review.
  • Handle financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and audit reporting, ensuring compliance with Financial Reporting Standards (FRS).
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and relevant government authorities for audit, tax, and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly GST filings and manage all other tax matters.
  • Provide financial insights and advice to management to support business operations and minimize financial risks.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and operational efficiency enhancements.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff and manage HR-related financial responsibilities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing, financial reporting, and preparation of management reports with detailed analysis.
  • Assist with statutory audits, corporate tax compliance, and other ad-hoc financial tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA/ACCA/CA qualification preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of general financial and cost accounting principles, with proficiency in software such as ERP systems, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid understanding of Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and tax regulations (e.g., GST, CIT).
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a full set of accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills, with the ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently with a high level of integrity.
  • Experience with ERP implementation is advantageous.
