Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis
- Collaborate closely with the CFO on budgeting and financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Develop and manage the annual budget and financial forecasts, making recommendations based on data analysis, trend identification, and variance supervision.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to influence business decisions and strategies that drive long-term value creation.
- Champion productivity through cost analysis processes, recommending actions to address optimization opportunities.
- Perform Return on Investment (ROI) analyses for major capital projects, supporting decision-making and strategic initiatives.
Financial Reporting
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (e.g., FRS(I), IFRS, GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
- Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting.
- Analyze and provide insights on the financial performance of the company and the group, presenting findings to senior management and stakeholders.
Financial Control
- Ensure smooth month-end close processes, including oversight of general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury functions.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including corporation tax, income tax, GST, and others; coordinate with tax advisors to optimize tax strategies and minimize liabilities.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with financial regulations, including internal and external audits.
- Oversee and coordinate annual statutory and regulatory audits with internal and external auditors.
Financial Strategy
- Assist management with strategic and tactical matters related to budget management and forecasting.
- Undertake special assignments and ad-hoc functions as needed, contributing to ongoing process improvements and efficiency gains.
Team Management
- Supervise and lead the finance team, providing guidance and advice on complex accounting issues and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, recommending and leading projects to execute tactical initiatives and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA (Singapore) or CPA certification preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial role.
- Candidates with proven expertise in financial modelling, financial planning, and analysis, with a strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations are preferred.
- Maturity, integrity, and a high level of discretion, with the ability to interact confidently with senior leadership.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, capable of conducting in-depth research and data analysis to resolve complex issues.
- Knowledge in systems such as SAP or other OpenSource ERP systems is advantageous; advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
