Financial Controller

We have an exciting career opportunity for the position of Financial Controller ("FC"). This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to NIM's mission. We invite talented individuals to join us.

Job Description:


A. Financial Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the institution's mission and goals.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyse variances and recommended actions.
  • Advise the Management on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow and policy matters.

B. Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and manage audits.
  • Ensure compliance with SIngapore's financial regulations, tax laws, and education sector-specific guidelines.
  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies, auditors, banks and other stakeholders.

C. Risk Management

  • Identify and manage financial risks, including operational, market and credit risks.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure financial controls and safeguard assets.
  • Oversee the management of cash flow and working capital to ensure financial stability.

D. Operational Finance Management

  • Oversee fees collection regarding procurement, payroll, tuition, and other financial operations to optimise efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure that financial systems and processes are robust, compliant, and support current and future growth.

E. Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, foestering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and accountability.
  • Collaborate closwith the Management team to support the institution's strategic mission and goals.

F. Strategic Financial Initiatives

  • Support the development and execution of strategic financial initiatives, including expansion, partnerships, and new programs.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement key projects and initiatives.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant).
  • 8 years of progressive financial management experience, with 3 years of leadership role within the education sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Singapore's financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Strong business acumen, financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to be operationally hands-on and possess strong skills and experience.
