The Services required are set out as follows:

1. Taking on the administrative duties required to support the effective implementation of the Junior Outstanding Leaders in Energy for Sustainability (JOULES) programme, which include:

• Preparing and setting up equipment/devices (e.g. micro:bit, simple electric circuits, sensors, solar panels, m5GO and other peripherals etc) for JOULES lessons.

• Carrying out checking, maintenance, and day-to-day running of the JOULES Smart Centre.

• Attending professional development sessions together with the teachers to keep abreast with STEM areas i.e. attend training by learned colleagues, vendors and workshops (no additional cost to the Contractor).

• Assisting trainers/ teachers in helping students.

• Ability to conduct workshops / training for students is preferred, this may include accompanying students for learning journeys, STEM competitions as assistant chaperone.

• Conducting regular maintenance and stock check of equipment/devices in the JOULES Smart Centre.

• Creating and monitor inventory/checklist of equipment/devices and ensure termly update of inventory/checklist.

• Recording and condemning damaged/missing/broken equipment.

• Ensuring all equipment/devices are kept in order by the teacher/students after lessons.

• Assisting the school’s STEM Programme Committee to consolidate items to purchase into a procurement plan with inputs from both staff and students.

• Keeping the JOULES Smart Centre clean and tidy at all times.


2. Supporting the school’s Applied Learning Programme (ALP) Committee in building a Maker Culture in the school, which includes:

• Supervising students in the safe and proper use of the Makerspace.

• Establishing policies and procedures regarding safety, security, training and access to the Makerspace.

• Working with the school’s STEM Programme Committee to manage the budget and resources for the Makerspace, including equipment, software and materials.

• Participating in the layout, installation and operation of equipment (e.g. 3D printers, laser cutters, Virtual Reality system). • Assist in the safety and maintenance of equipment and tooling.

• Collaborating with the school’s STEM Programme Committee to support curriculum and programmes for the Makerspace.

• Keeping the Makerspace clean and tidy at all times
