BROAD FUNCTION
To provide support to BME Head in medical equipment planning, technology evaluation, preparation of specification for ITQ/RFP, evaluation and commissioning of new medical equipment; as well as breakdown/preventive maintenance, and de-commissioning of medical equipment.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific
- Work with relevant user groups to prepare medical equipment specifications for ITQ / RFP; evaluate ITQ / RFP submissions and provide recommendations based on technical compliance
- Review and make improvement to various programmes to ensure minimal disruption to operations and ensure medical equipment is safe for use at all times.
- Provide technical support for commissioning, operation, maintenance and de-commissioning of medical equipment.
- Supervise the specialist vendors and appointed contractors on medical equipment maintenance works to ensure quality of works and compliance to required standards.
- Check, analyse and investigate faults / complaints / hazards on medical equipment and assist BME/FM Head in mapping out and implementation of required action plans.
- Ensure quality of works conform to standards and practices that the hospital subscribes to, including other quality initiatives driven by hospital and department.
- Support and assist BME Head in coordinating services for medical equipment projects together with IT, Consultants, vendors, contractors and appropriate authorities.
General
- Work closely with BME team to support procurement activities and related projects to ensure smooth operation
- Perform any other duties as assigned by BME Head.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education / Training / Experience
- Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic or equivalent, or Diploma with minimum 10 years’ working experience.
- Relevant industry experience with minimum 5 years’ experience in similar capacity for Engineer. Relevant industry experience with minimum 7 years’ experience in similar capacity for Senior Engineer.

iii - Fundamental IT knowledge OS, Cybersecurity and Microsoft office, etc.

- Required to be activated back on site during pandemic when necessary.
