Senior/Engineering Assistant (Logistic & Automation), Facilities Management (2 Year Contract)

Broad Function

The Engineering Assistant (Logistic & Automation) shall reports to the Engineer and assist in the execution and management of FM services, such as operation, maintenance, modification, replacement and activities under Logistic & Automation engineering systems and non-clinical equipment (such as Pneumatic Tube System (PTS), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), Pneumatic Waste & Linen Chute System (PWLCS), Food Waste Treatment and Vacuum System (FWTVS), Centralised Sterilised Supplies Department Equipment, Food Services Department Equipment and mobile equipment). In addition, the incumbent shall provide support to audit and monitor the prescribed KPIs of the maintenance services rendered by the specialist vendors and outsourced maintenance service provider. To support, implement and manage as necessary in cyclical and improvement projects by both the department and hospital


Key Responsibilities and Duties

Specific

  1. To assist in overseeing preventive & corrective maintenance scheduling & coordination work. Manage Maintenance Agent day-to-day works for logistics and automated systems and equipment etc.
  2. To assist to oversee the performance of outsourced maintenance service provider and specialist vendors to ensure good maintenance standards are maintained and planned PM schedules are met.
  3. Ensure prompt service recovery for any breakdown of equipment and systems to minimize disruption to hospital service operations.
  4. To assist to oversee and coordinate improvements projects to the hospital services and facilities as well as upgrading of systems and equipment components.
  5. To provide advisory and support to the maintenance team in addressing and rectifying specialized system failures and troubleshooting. Recommend system condemnation and replacements as necessary.
  6. To prepare technical specifications and drawings for system improvements and draft cost estimates and work schedule for project execution.

General

  1. Oversee outsourced maintenance team safety practice and work conduct and ensure good maintenance standards are implemented.
  2. Ensure prompt service recovery for any breakdown of equipment and systems to minimize disruption to hospital service operations.
  3. Perform any other duties assigned by HOD.

Job Requirement

Education / Training / Experience

  1. Diploma or Higher Nitec/Nitec in Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics / Automation Engineering.
  2. At least 1-4 years of experience or ITE graduate with at least 5 years’ electrical / mechanical / mechatronics / automation systems experience for Engineering Assistant.
  3. At least 5-6 years of experience or ITE graduate with at least 8 years’ electrical / mechanical / mechatronics / automation systems experience for Senior Engineering Assistant.
  4. Have prior experience with design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical / mechanical / mechatronics / automation systems & equipment will be an added advantage.
  5. Prior experience in management of electrical / mechanical / mechatronics / automation systems and facilities operation as well as improvement projects will be an advantage.
  6. Prior working experience in healthcare setting will be an advantage.
  7. Conversant in reading and interpreting architectural and M&E schematic drawings.
  8. Conversant in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Ability to use 3D perspective drawing software such as BIM will be an added advantage;
