Senior Hull Engineer-Newbuild & Repairs (Benoi)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for day to day on-site project supervision of new construction/conversion/repairs
  • Liaise with various departments and subcontractors for work arrangement and planning
  • Perform materials planning to ensure the team has enough resources for work to take place
  • Ensure assigned jobs are carried out effectively and productively in order to meet ship owners’ specifications, requirements and datelines
  • Resolve engineering and technical problems and as well as finding ways to implement cost effective measures in the production processes
  • Plan and execute man power deployment effectively
  • Ensure compliance of safety regulations and requirements on site
  • Monitoring, preparation and submission of reports on works progress

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering
  • Possess at least 3-5 years’ experience in ship building or ship repairs
  • Able to manage up to 120 - 150 workers, including subcontractors
  • Knowledge of Shipbuilding and Ship Repair standards
  • Knowledge of different welding methods/ WPS/ PQR and NDT methods
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and specification
  • Possess Ship Repair Manager Cert (SRM) will be advantageous
  • Willing to work long hours on weekdays, weekends and public holidays
  • Able to work onboard, at height and confined spaces

Other Information:

  • Location: Benoi Rd (Island-wide transport provided)
  • 5 days work week
  • Working Hours: 7.25am to 5.00pm
