A strategic and experienced Director of IT to lead hotel technology initiatives and manage IT operations. To have a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, systems management, and technology trends, as well as the ability to align technology with organizational goals. This role is critical in ensuring our IT resources are efficient, effective, and secure.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance business performance.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback.
  • IT Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring systems and services are reliable, secure, and meet the needs of the organization.
  • Budget Management: Manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources. Prepare and present budget proposals and reports to senior management and owing company.
  • Project Management: Oversee IT projects from conception to implementation, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Cybersecurity Oversight: Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies and protocols to protect organizational data and systems. Stay updated on security threats and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with IT vendors and service providers. Negotiate contracts and manage service level agreements to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and ensure alignment with IT capabilities. Serve as a liaison between IT and other business units.

Other Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, recommend, plan and implement IT Capital and Operational related projects for the Hotel including expenditure planning.
  • Lead the overall IT Department and Business units in all aspects.
  • Oversee all guest-facing technologies in the hotel and ensure reliable product performance, innovative service offerings, and deliver personalized and efficient support for the same.
  • Manage the day to day operations, includes scheduling and monitoring of IT colleagues attendance. Required on-site support over any special events to be planned accordingly.
  • Ensures compliance, controls and security are in place.
  • Ensure all maintenance contracts are reviewed and in place for all IT systems.
  • Maintain an inventory list for all IT equipment and tag (not limited to computers, laptops and printers).
  • Conduct PCI training and any other IT related trainings.
  • Ensure that the team consistently provides a high level of operational stability for property-based technology, and high levels of service and support to colleagues and guests.
  • Maintain and promote core technology standards and maintain Accor best practices in respect to property systems.
  • Ensure that Accor Technology Policies and Procedures are carried out, as outlined in the Systems Manager user Guide including IT Data Protection services, Data Back-up, PCI compliance and security.
  • Facilitate owner’s appointed auditors for annual IT audit.
  • Provide technical expertise and project management for all technology projects.
  • Provide twenty-four hour support for mission critical systems as documented in the service escalation document.
  • Effectively communicates technology related plans, actions and decisions with the hotel team.
  • Ensures users are aware of the support processes.
  • Implement and maintain backup and emergency procedures to ensure integrity of programs and data at all times.
  • Be fiscally responsible by adhering to set budgetary guidelines.
  • Responsible for IT monthly accruals and forecasting.
  • Provide point of escalation support to Accor team.
  • Be aware of the hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures.
  • Attend all briefings, meetings and trainings as assigned by management.
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the management.

Team Management

  • Interview, select and recruit direct reports.
  • Identify and develop team members with potential.
  • Conduct performance review with the team.
  • Constantly monitor team members’ appearance, attitude and degree of professionalism.
  • Prepare detailed induction programs for new employees.
  • Develop, conduct maintain all staff training programs for team members, focusing on their development needs, providing them with new skills to meet the changing needs of the business.

Candidate Profile

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in IT management, with a focus on strategic planning and operational oversight.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, software development, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Proven experience in budget management and resource allocation.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of hotel operations/applications is an asset.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
