Position: STEM Programme Support Personnel
Location: Bukit View Secondary School
Duration of Service: From 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025
Working Hours:
- Mondays to Fridays: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (inclusive of a 1-hour lunch break)
- Total of 8 weeks of service will not be required each year:2 weeks during June school holidays
6 weeks during November-December school holidays
- Days Off: Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays
Key Responsibilities:
Support for JOULES Programme:,
- simple electric circuits, sensors, solar panels, m5GO, and other peripherals) for JOULES lessons.
- Prepare and set up equipment/devices (e.g., microCarry out maintenance and manage the day-to-day operations of the JOULES Smart Centre.
- Attend professional development sessions alongside teachers to stay updated on STEM areas, including training by colleagues, vendors, and workshops (no additional cost to the Contractor).
- Assist trainers/teachers in facilitating student engagement.
Conduct workshops/training for students and accompany them on learning journeys and STEM competitions as an assistant chaperone. - Perform regular maintenance and stock checks of equipment/devices in the JOULES Smart Centre.
- Create and monitor an inventory checklist of equipment/devices, ensuring termly updates.
- Record and manage damaged/missing/broken equipment.
Ensure all equipment/devices are organized by teachers/students after lessons. - Assist the STEM Programme Committee in consolidating procurement plans based on input from staff and students.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the JOULES Smart Centre.
Support for Applied Learning Programme (ALP) Committee:
- Supervise students in the safe and proper use of the Makerspace.
- Establish policies and procedures regarding safety, security, training, and access to the Makerspace.
- Collaborate with the STEM Programme Committee to manage the budget and resources for the Makerspace, including equipment, software, and materials.
- Participate in the layout, installation, and operation of equipment (e.g., 3D printers, laser cutters, Virtual Reality systems).
- Assist in the safety and maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Collaborate with the STEM Programme Committee to support curriculum and programs for the Makerspace.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Makerspace.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- An effective team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- A meticulous individual capable of multitasking and working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- A polytechnic diploma, preferably in STEM-related disciplines, with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Candidates without a diploma but with relevant experience may also apply.
- Knowledge of processes, machines, fabrication techniques, and materials within a prototyping or manufacturing environment is advantageous.
