Mission/purpose of the Job:
- Responsible for vehicle repair, diagnostic, service maintenance.
- Ensure all assigned jobs are carried out according to UD/Volvo Quality Standards.
Key responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- To perform all basic troubleshooting and basic diagnostics with appropriate recommendations (With guidance from Team Leaders where appropriate)
- To check and provide correct recommended Parts details in the Work Order as and when required.
- To carry out Service Maintenance on the trucks including:
- Power Steering Diagnostics and Repair
- Engine Overhaul
- ESCOT Control Housing Overhaul
- ESCOT Gearbox Overhaul
- Rear Axle Overhaul
- Advanced Multimeter Measurements and Wiring Repair
- Emission Related System
- Fault tracing and repair electrical system via Tech Tool test, Calibrate and programming
- To perform all repairs (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic etc)
- To ensure Utilization, Efficiency and Productivity is achieved.
- To record repair time and detail of repair in the Work Order.
- To keep Team Leader updated on the repair details and repair requirements.
- Adhere to Warranty Process and Procedures (Warranty tagging of parts, return and storage of warranty parts etc)
- Ensure good housekeeping of work bay.
- Accountable for all tools and equipment handling and usage.
- Ethical compliance of genuine parts replacement and service rendered according to the checklist and scope of works.
- Ensure all service and repairs are performed thoroughly and in accordance to good quality practice and procedures adhering to manufacturers standard 4 (Singapore).
- Lead by example to ensure high level of Health & Safety performance within the area of responsibility.
- Attend upgrading courses as and when available
- To attend to breakdown where necessary and to be equipped with a valid Class 3/4 driving license.
- Adhere to UD/Volvo processes and policies.
- Any other duties assigned by your immediate superior.
Essential educational and/or training qualifications and certificates
- NITEC in Automotive Technology or former NTC 3/2 in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or NTC 3/2 Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics or Diploma in Automotive Engineering or related field.
- Preferred with valid Class 3 / 4 / 5 driving license (Singapore).
Preferred experience and knowledge
- Minimum of 4 – 6 years working experience in servicing and repairing heavy trucks (Japanese and Continental brands).
- Basic Vehicle Principles and Concepts.
- Advanced engine, transmission and brake system knowledge.
- Multi-meter basic electrical values.
- Knowledge in vehicle electrical circuit diagram.
