The Production Manager:
- oversees all operations of the food production plant, ensuring work processes are simplified, costs are reduced, and production processes run efficiently.
- sets key performance indicators (KPI), and develops new food production standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- monitors quality assurance, investigates production or quality issues and recommends solutions.
- leads daily operations of food production to ensure that production targets are met and food products meet required standards.
- ensures smooth production operations within the plant as well as maintain adequate inventories of raw materials, manpower and other resources.
- oversees and reports on production yields, equipment issues and staff overtime to the management.
- Assist in implementing new or modified production processes to manufacture new food products.
- Assist in production documentation establishment and maintenance.
- Assist to carry out improvement projects.
- Enforce good safety culture and manufacturing practices.
- Ensure processes and procedures are followed.
- Ensure quality and hygiene of products and production areas, and workplace safety.
- Evaluate low yield and quality assurance to highlight issues that affect operations to higher management.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement projects relating to manufacturing processes.
- Lead staff on preparation of ingredients, machinery operation and packaging of the food products.
- Maintain inventory levels of raw materials, ingredients and buffer stock to support smooth operations.
- Manage training for production staff.
- Plan production output and set daily production schedules and buffer stock levels.
- Prepare regular production performance reports.
- Review and suggest changes to standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and work instructions.
- Work with maintenance teams and assist in troubleshooting equipment downtimes and site restorations.
- Work with staff in continuous improvement efforts, troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues.
- Work with teams to resolve inter-disciplinary issues and control overall quality of work.
- Investigate low yield and quality assurance.

- Support product quality and food safety processes to ensure that finished products meet specifications and regulatory standard
He/She works in a food production environment and may be required to work in shifts. He/She is exposed to physically demanding work conditions such as long standing hours and hot or cold temperatures.
