12-year-old Singapore-based boutique asset management firm set up by fund managers with over twenty-five years each of investment management experience at some of the world’s top global asset management firms. Founder Homiyar Vasania was a key part of Morgan Stanley’s Emerging Markets team in Singapore and former partner Jamshed Desai was a fund manager with Rexiter Asset Management, majority owned by State Street Global Advisors, Boston.
RVAM is a Capital Markets Services (CMS) licence-holder regulated by MAS and manages money on a discretionary basis for large family offices, institutional investors and UHNW individuals. We have particular and in-depth expertise in Asian markets including China, Indonesia, Thailand among others. The role offers a unique opportunity to build skills and experience in investment research and fund management by working closely with highly experienced fund managers with wisdom in long term investing honed across multiple market cycles. The role would enable valuable learning on globally based businesses and industries in a small and dynamic investment team in a firm with great pedigree and growth potential. The chosen analyst would be a key member in the team and work with autonomy, while also having the chance to gain a holistic view of multi-asset fund management.
Roles and responsibilities:
In this role you would have hands on involvement in:
· Conducting research on companies and industries using primary and secondary data sources as well as analysis of corporate financial statements
· Creation of financial models incorporating the impact of company-specific, sector-related as well as macroeconomic factors
· Analysis of corporate financial statements
· Working with the fund managers to create internal stock reports and documentation on securities
· Joining fund managers in attending company meetings and research conferences and calls as required
· Portfolio analytics and attribution analysis using Bloomberg
Job Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you would need some of the following:
· 1-3 years’ experience in investment research; prior internship experience in financial analysis/ securities research would be valued
· Strong demonstrated financial analytical skills
· A learning mindset and deep interest in investment analysis
· Strong ability to work in and contribute to small teams
· It would be an advantage if the applicant is a speaker of any Asian language
