National Youth Sports Institute, an institution set up under Singapore Sports School Limited is a central resource, expertise and management body, placed to understand the needs of high performing student-athletes across sports and to address evolving challenges in the sports ecosystem. NYSI will propagate tested systems, processes and best practices to the wider youth sports excellence ecosystem in Singapore to aid aspiring talented studentathletes in achieving sporting breakthroughs and win glory for Singapore.
About Football Division
Unleash The Roar! (UTR!) is about building the Singapore football ecosystem that will serve to inspire and unite the nation. Co-led by Sport Singapore (SportSG) and the Football Association of Singapore (FAS), it is about the journey that will establish football as a sport with high participation, high performance regionally and internationally, and an economically viable professional career. Through the School Football Academies (SFA), ActiveSG Football Academies (AFA) and National Development Centres (NDC) around Singapore, the aim is to produce a cohort of players with a holistic development and solid foundation of physical, technical, tactical and mental skills, each of whom is primed to maximize his/her individual potential.
Placed within the UTR! team, you will be part of a dynamic team of coaches and sport scientists responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive program that is in line with the Singapore National Football Curriculum and Philosophy.
In this role, you shall:
- Implement and operationalise the use of video, GPS (desirable), escouting and performance reporting systems for the assigned training centres.
- Optimize IT resources needed to capture, store, edit, analyse and report on the parameters (tactical, technical and physical) agreed upon in the creation of individualized development plans for all football players.
- Assist coaches in developing training drills and programs to address and improve team and individual player abilities.
- Assist players with their individual development plans by providing frequent video and analytical reports on their performance and progress.
- Work collaboratively with the fitness coaches and sport science staff with insights that can make a positive impact on the performance of players at the individual and team level.
- Conduct continuous education courses for coaches.
Requirements:
- BSc in sport and exercise science or sport performance analysis or equivalent.
- MSc in sport and exercise science or sport performance analysis or equivalent post-graduate qualifications.
- Appropriate football qualifications.
- Worked in a high-performance football or sporting environment for min 1-3 years.
- Knowledge and expertise of handling industry-standard performance analysis and video software and evaluating the data.
- Good interpersonal, oral and written (English) communication skills.
- Analytical skill sets in statistics, data science and research methods.
- Up to date with ongoing football and sport science research.
