Management & Operation of Library
- Plan and manage the day-to-day operations and administration of the Library and collection development within the approved budget
- Develop, implement and review library policies and Standard Operating Procedures ("SOPs")
- Provide regular reports to Appointed Supervisor and Senior Management when required
- Plan and prepare the annual budget submission and monitor budget utilisation
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders on facilities management, IT and Security Matters
- Supervise a team of lirary support officers
- Any other library-related administrative duties and projects assigned by Appointed Supervisor
Circulation, Reference & Information
- Understand the collection needs and to recommend, source and acquire the relevant materials for the Library
- To develop and maintain a collection of print and electronic resources to support the reference and information needs of the organisation
- To conduct/facilitate information literacy programmes, new staff briefings, library tours etc., for the Authority staff and visitors upon request.
- To facilitate and assist in the efforts to drive Knowledge Management initiatives
Collections Maintenance & Development
- Negotiate and liaise with suppliers or vendors for the acquisition of new resources (print and electronic), subscription and renewal of serials (print and electronic) and online databases.
- Stock-taking
- Responsible for handling all aspects of the acquisition and collection development/maintenance exercise
Library Management System
- To develop and review acquisition and collection policies and guidelines for the library to ensure that the acquisitions and the Library’s collection are relevant and meet the organisations’ requirements.
- To conduct regular review of the Library resources to update and refresh the resources.
- To maintain and update in hard-copy the Singapore Statutes
Job Requirements
- Minimum of Polytechnic Diploma or equivalent
- Certifications or Qualifications in library and information management would be an added advantage
- At least 10 years of relevant working experience in libraries of similar capacity
- Prior experience in working in a law library is preferred
- Prior knowledge of cataloguing based on Los Angeles County Law Library Class K-Law Classification is advantageous
- Tech-savvy with good proficiency in Microsoft Office and technology tools
- Meticulous with details, good communication and interpersonal skills
