About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bulk Agricultural Products Trade Manager to lead and drive our Group's international trading operations. In this role, you will manage large-scale trading activities for agricultural products, including Southeast Asian timber, nuts, seafood, cosmetics, fruits, and durians, and play a pivotal role in expanding the group's import and export business globally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the trading activities of bulk agricultural products, ensuring efficient import/export operations across Southeast Asia, focusing on timber, nuts, seafood, cosmetics, fruits, and durians.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers. Lead contract negotiations and ensure the successful execution of trade agreements.
- Analyze market trends, supply chains, and trading risks. Provide regular updates and insights to management regarding market conditions and trade performance.
- Monitor financial transactions, results, and profitability. Report on key trading activities and oversee day-to-day operations within the trading department.
- Develop and implement policies, business plans, and budgets to achieve growth objectives for agricultural product trading, both in Singapore and internationally.
- Work closely with farmers, suppliers, processors, shippers, and financial institutions to secure accurate market information and streamline business operations.
- Stay abreast of global agricultural market trends and economic factors. Proactively address international political and economic changes affecting the trading environment.
- Leverage the group's platform and financial strength to pursue new strategic partnerships, investment opportunities, and collaborations with producers, processors, and consumers.
- Oversee logistics coordination, finance, and documentation. Recommend improvements to ensure smooth business operations and efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to risk management practices and guidelines provided by management, ensuring stable and secure trading activities.
- Ensure no credit exposure occurs without prior management approval in accordance with credit risk management guidelines.
Requirements:
- A recognized degree in agriculture, business, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in trading bulk agricultural products, ideally with a focus on timber, nuts, seafood, cosmetics, fruits, and durians.
- Proven success in managing trading activities and driving business growth and profitability.
- Deep understanding of global supply chains, economic factors, and regulations impacting international agricultural trade.
- Familiarity with production processes, quality standards, and logistics for agricultural products.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management, suppliers, customers, and regional partners.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Adaptability and flexibility to respond to market changes swiftly and proactively.
- A passion for the agricultural industry, with a self-motivated and entrepreneurial mindset.
