About the position

The position will primarily support the Climate Diplomacy Counsellor to advance Australia’s climate diplomacy within the region. The Climate Diplomacy Officer will be vital in enabling the Counsellor to work effectively across the region by providing policy research, administrative, logistical and briefing support. The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Understand and inform Australia’s climate policy and its objectives. Conduct and present policy research on climate and energy transition issues and monitor the policy landscape in the host country and regional countries.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including media contacts, policy think tanks and policy development institutions.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Qualifications in a related field such as international development, international affairs, public policy, climate change, environment or communications and/or relevant professional experience in the public or private sector in Singapore or globally in the fields of climate, economics, trade, green economy, infrastructure, energy & resources, innovation or a related field
  • High quality written and spoken communication skills, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of effective stakeholder management. Demonstrated capacity to adapt communication styles and methods to appeal to the interests and knowledge of the audience.
