The College of Computing & Data Science (CCDS) invites applications for the position of Project Officer. The position is for one year, renewable subject to satisfactory performance. Successful candidates will conduct research and develop advanced deep learning and computer vision algorithms. Candidates are expected to have a strong background in relevant areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- To independently undertake research in computer vision and machine learning.
- To produce research reports and/or publications as required by the funding body or for dissemination to the wider academic community.
- To undertake any other duties relevant to the programme of research.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong background in machine learning and computer vision.
- Publication records in machine learning or computer vision conferences/journals.
- Knowledge of scientific or engineering software like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, etc.
- Research experience after a pre-university diploma would be desirable - related field (preferably worked in R&D sector with industrial experience in the project-related field).
- Demonstrated experience in operations planning, project management activities, resources, equipment, information and execution of projects.
- Knowledge of safety: Familiarity with safety management systems in laboratory and pilot-scale test bed is preferred.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability and willingness to work some flexible hours.
- Good command of English, both oral and written (as required for research work) along with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individual and professional groups.
