Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage the packing team to meet performance standards, productivity goals, and operational requirements.
- Oversee the training of new staff in proper vegetable growth and handling, equipment cleaning, sanitization procedures, and maintaining of packhouse to ensure and uphold the highest quality of standards across all stock.
- Develop proprietary growing techniques to enhance vegetable/crop yield and quality.
- Lead and execute improvement projects aimed at enhancing productivity, quality, and efficiency of the vegetable/crop production process, from seed cultivation to post-harvest handling.
- Review, verify, and maintain accurate records of daily harvest and quality reports for all vegetable produce.
- Collaborate with the production team and lead regular harvest inspections to ensure accurate calculations of stock balance and precise forecasting and alignment with sales demands.
- Manage stock control of consumables in the packhouse, driving improvements in the efficient use of materials and equipment.
- Develop processes to minimize produce or inventory wastage during post-harvest processes.
- Ensure compliance with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and maintain all relevant documentations of certification.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports on operations, performance, and quality metrics.
- Undertake ad-hoc responsibilities as directed by senior management, including the Managing Director and Managing Representative.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in agriculture or a related field with leadership experience.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Experience in managing teams and optimizing production processes.
- Experience in developing processes to enhance quality of vegetables/crops
- Proven track record in inventory management and logistics coordination.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate staff.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing operational demands.
