Job Overview:
The Commodity HR Manager is responsible for managing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives specific to the commodities industry. This role involves overseeing employee relations, recruitment, and talent management while aligning HR activities with the business objectives of trading and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in commodities or related industries and possess strong cross-cultural communication and conflict resolution skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Talent Acquisition and Management:
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies for key roles within the commodity trading and supply chain functions.
- Work closely with hiring managers to identify and attract high-caliber talent.
- Manage the onboarding process for new employees to ensure a smooth transition.
- Employee Relations and Engagement:
- Address employee issues and concerns in a proactive manner.
- Support conflict resolution and provide guidance on employee relations issues.
- Implement engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment and promote retention.
- Performance Management:
- Oversee the performance evaluation process, ensuring clear goals and expectations.
- Work with line managers to develop individual development plans for employees.
- Provide coaching and support to managers on performance-related issues.
- Compensation and Benefits:
- Ensure the organization’s compensation and benefits plans are competitive within the industry.
- Conduct periodic salary benchmarking and support annual compensation reviews.
- HR Policy and Compliance:
- Ensure HR policies and practices are compliant with local labor laws and international standards.
- Maintain and update HR policies specific to commodity trading, logistics, and international trade.
- Training and Development:
- Identify skills gaps and develop training programs tailored to commodity professionals.
- Coordinate with external trainers or internal resources to deliver targeted training.
- HR Support for Global Operations:
- Act as a liaison for HR support between regional and global offices.
- Understand and adapt to the HR requirements of different regions to support cross-border teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in HR, preferably in commodities, trading, or logistics sectors.
- Strong understanding of international labor laws and HR practices.
- Proven track record of working with culturally diverse teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in managing HR for a commodity trading company.
- Familiarity with trading operations, supply chain management, and international business.
