Responsibilities:
- Perform service and troubleshooting on the latest generation of engines and Dual-Fuel (DF) engine components, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic power systems, hybrid control units, and Engine Control System (ECS) modules with precision and attention to detail.
- Execute engine power modifications to ensure compliance with IMO (International Maritime Organization) regulations, particularly in relation to engine power limitations and environmental standards.
- Support the technical team in developing and implementing modification strategies to optimize engine efficiency.
- Lead or assist in the installation, alignment, inspection, repair, and overhaul of diesel engines and auxiliary equipment, ensuring seamless operation.
- Ensure proper engine alignment and precise setup during installation to maximize performance.
- Participate in engine upgrades, system retrofits, and complete overhauls of ship engines, ensuring that all components are restored to optimal condition and modernized where needed.
- Conduct detailed inspections of parts and equipment during overhauls, recommending necessary upgrades or replacements.
- Liaise effectively with stakeholders to provide updates, troubleshoot issues, and offer technical advice when required.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting on job status, technical issues, and project milestones.
- Proactively address any challenges encountered and communicate solutions to the technical team and client representatives.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Engineering or related field is required, with a focus on mechanical or marine engineering preferred.
- Prior experience in a similar industry, particularly in servicing engines, is advantageous.
- Strong technical knowledge in diesel engines, hydraulic power systems, and engine control systems (ECS).
- Self-driven, resourceful, and able to work independently while also being an effective team player.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet in challenging environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, team members, and contractors.
- flexibility to travel for service assignments, both domestically and internationally.
