Responsibilities:
- Design and update nursing education curricula to meet competency standards.
- Incorporate evidence-based practices and current clinical guidelines.
- Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on training in clinical settings.
- Utilize active learning techniques (e.g., simulations, case studies).
- Oversee and assess nursing students during clinical placements.
- Provide guidance and feedback on clinical skills and patient care.
- Evaluate student competencies through standardized assessment tools.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Mentor nursing students and novice nurses, fostering professional development.
- Address individual learning needs and provide resources for improvement.
- Work with nursing staff, nurse managers, and clinical educators to enhance teaching practices.
- Collaborate on developing clinical-based in-service training.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the clinical setting.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing education programs.
- Promote and facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for nursing staff.
- Stay updated on nursing education trends and regulatory changes.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and evaluations.
- Report on the effectiveness of educational programs to stakeholders.
- Engage in research activities to improve nursing education and practice.
- Explore innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
Requirements:
- Possess at least an Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Orthopaedic, Oncology or Medical Surgical)
- SNB Registered Senior Staff Nurse
- At least 5 years of clinical experience
