Key Job Description
· To source the best possible cost from ocean carriers and coloaders so that we can provide our Sales and Operations with competitive pricing to win more ocean businesses and grow our volumes for the company
· To provide ocean quotations, including trucking, for tenders/bids and to the Singapore sales and relevant internal stakeholders whenever required
· To take direction from our AP ocean regional management in terms of strategies and pricing in line with our corporate direction.
· To work with stipulated regional carriers and coloaders as directed by our AP ocean management, while exercising initiative to work with selected local carrier options.
· To establish a strong relationship with our partner carriers on a local level.
· To collaborate with our regional ocean trade desk teams in providing competitive and customised freight solutions for all ocean requests.
· To work with our carriers to secure space allocation and long-term rates based on NAC strategy, where applicable, in collaboration with our regional ocean team.
· To act as the local subject matter expert (SME) for ocean pricing and to provide pricing guidance and market intelligence to our internal stakeholders.
· To assist in resolving rates’/ contracts’ disputes with carriers, when needed.
· To endeavour to achieve a good yield per TEU for our newly secured/existing business through renegotiation with our liners as an ongoing process.
· To provide monthly ocean volume report .
· Any other tasks as assigned by your superior.
Requirements
· Diploma/ Tertiary qualifications in supply chain/logistics.
· At least 3 to 5 years of ocean freight forwarding experience, preferably in pricing procurement.
· A team player who is self-motivated and with good interpersonal skills.
· A confident individual with effective verbal and written communication skills.
· A persistent individual with good negotiation skills.
· A resilient individual who can work under pressure.
· Conversant in MS skills, especially in using EXCEL spreadsheet
