(A) Job Summary:
The Tunnel geologist produces geotechnical work plan and assists both bored and mined tunnelling work to deliver the product to the requirement of the project. He/she is expected to work well with the teammates to achieve the shared goals. Working in night shifts will be required.
(B) Essential Job Functions:
The Tunnel geologist is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Provide planning of additional Soil Investigation etc, related to tunnelling works.
- Conduct face mapping to understand the ground condition for tunnelling.
- Support the tunnelling operation from geological viewpoint.
- Provide geological supervision to the tunnelling operation.
- Ensure the work is done in compliant with the protocol established for the project.
- Report to Tunnel Manager / Deputy Tunnel Manager.
(C) Minimum Qualifications/ Job Experience:
- Recognized bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of TBM bored tunnelling experience.
- Tunnelling experience using rock mass classification system.
- Experience in mapping of tunnel faces carried out during cutterhead intervention.
- Large diameter (over 10m diameter) bored tunnelling experience (if applicable)
- Hydro-Shield TBM experience (if applicable)
